by Michael B. Druxman on 03/27/16March 28, 2016
I'm pleased to announce the 2nd of two new plays in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection. The first was THE LAST MONSTERS, which I announced last week.
ROBINSON & RAFT is a 3-person play that centers on two of the screen's premier "tough guys," Edward G. Robinson and George Raft. Below are the links to (1) the play script that you can purchase on Amazon, and (2) a trailer for the play on YouTube. If the links don't work, just copy the address into your browser and you'll be taken right there.

THE LAST MONSTERS
by Michael B. Druxman on 03/19/16March 21, 2016
I'm pleased to announce the first of two (2) new stage plays in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection, now available in paperback and Kindle editions.
If you are a fan of classic horror movies of the 1930s and 1940s, then you will certainly enjoy THE LAST MONSTERS, It's a 5 character/2-act play, and three of the principal characters are horror icons Lon Chaney, Jr., Bela Lugosi and John Carradine. The play takes place in 1956 on the set of THE BLACK SLEEP, which is the final time all three actors worked together.
I'm quite proud of this one.
Here's the link to the Amazon site where you can purchase the play, and if that doesn't work, just copy the URL into your browser and you'll be taken right there.

During the next couple of days, I'm going to be posting reviews of both FLESH AND BONE, a dark, intriguing limited television series about the world of ballet, and TUMBLEDOWN, a romantic comedy, onto the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page. So, please look for them.

It's Been Awhile...
by Michael B. Druxman on 03/12/16March 14, 2016
It's been awhile since I've posted here. I try to post once every week, but I've been so busy the last couple of weeks, I totally forgot about this blog.
Quite a bit has happened since I last posted.
1. I finished writing the 2nd of the two new plays in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection, and since MGM/UA has not gotten back to me about using their movie posters on the covers, I've resorted to "Plan B" and am using something more generic. Using the posters would have been nice, but life goes on.
I'm expecting proof copies of these two plays to arrive by mail momentarily, and once I check them, they should be available for purchase within a few days in both paperback and Kindle editions. I'll announce the titles and subjects when they become available.
2. I filmed the interview for the upcoming Blu-ray release of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES with Basil Rathbone, which will only be available in the UK version. The company paid my fee promptly via wire transfer.
3. Contracts have been signed for a production of my play, LOMBARD, which will be presented in upstate New York in August.
4. I am currently checking proofs for the BearManor Media reprint of my first book, PAUL MUNI: His Life and His Films, which should be available in a couple of months. I've done some updating and added a new Introduction.
5. Finally, I've received a Blu-ray review copy of CAROL with Cate Blanchett. I hope to watch and review it on the Best Bets on DVD site within the next 2-3 days. That site is accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page.
You have a creative week.
