It was probably not the best idea to do this, but things just worked out this way.
What am I talking about?
I have two (2) new books published today.
First, I'm very proud to announce my new novel: JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE. It's a story that I've been playing with for the better part of two decades and it's now been published by BearManor Media and is available in both paperback and Kindle editions at Amazon. An audio version is also in the works, but more about that later.
Set in the 1970s, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE is about Jackie Moss, a brash, Jewish Las Vegas comedian who, by accident, gets booked for a one-night gig deep in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. You can imagine his audience's disappointment, since they were expecting to be entertained by a popular country-western singer, Jake Moss. Does Jackie and his pianist, Dave Arthur, have trouble making an exit? You betcha!
You can read more and purchase a copy of JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE by either clicking on the link or, if that doesn't work, pasting the following address in your browser: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1629331686
THE HOLLYWOOD CAVALCADE is the third anthology of plays in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection. It contains the three most recently published plays in the series: ROBINSON & RAFT, THE LAST MONSTERS and AVA & HER GUYS.
By purchasing these plays in this anthology, the cost will be considerably less that if you bought all three plays individually. Also available in both paperback and Kindle editions, you can buy THE HOLLYWOOD CAVALCADE by clicking on the link, or if that doesn't work, going to this website: https://www.amazon.com/dp/154835158X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1499172298&sr=1-1&keywords=the+hollywood+cavalcade

It Never Just Rains...

The health problems never seem to go away. A week or two after my final post surgery visit with my doctor, I got a case of Shingles, which I am still dealing with. And, I was vaccinated for Shingles eight years ago.
Then, yesterday, wife Sandy was out walking our dog, Chester, when the dumb mutt spotted a cat and started to take off after it. Sandy got caught in the leash and look a dive...right on her face. Not only will there be expensive dental work to repair the damage, but she also broke her glasses.
Bad Chester!
In the meantime, I've finished my new novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE, and it should be available for purchase on Amazon in July.
I'm rather proud of this one. I think it's my best work of fiction since DRACULA MEETS JACK THE RIPPER & Other Revisionist Histories.
Set in the mid-1970s, this "fish out of water" story is about Jackie Moss, a Jewish Las Vegas comedian (Think Don Rickles, Jack Carter, Buddy Hackett), who is, by mistake, booked for a one night gig deep in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas.
Consider the possibilities.
I'll post more on this later. In the meantime, I have to run to my post-operation therapy.

I am feeling much better after my surgery. I go to the doctor this coming week and, hopefully, he will "release" me.
There is a new review of THE RED TURTLE on the Best Bets on DVD site, accessible via the link in the Introduction section of this page, so please take a look.
Now for the important news:
My new book, HOLLYWOOD SNAPSHOTS: The Forgotten Interviews, is now available on Amazon in both paperback and hardback editions. The Kindle edition is coming soon.
The book reprints my columns from Coronet magazine as they originally appeared, and it also contains excerpts from my recently
rediscovered interview notes for my books, columns and stage plays,
including many eye-opening comments that never made print. These notes
are made public here for the first time.
Among the people interviewed are Claire Trevor, Paul Henreid, Jack Oakie, Howard Keel, Ann Miller, Yvonne De Carlo, Mary Pickford, Gale Sondergaard, John Carradine, David Janssen and several members of "The Little Rascals".
Here's the link to the book on Amazon. If it doesn't work, as is often the case, just copy the address into your browser and you'll be taken right there.
