What took you so long to get here?
Where have you been all my life?
I’ll tell you where I’ve been.

I’ve been in show business!

Ever since I was a little kid and heard Pinocchio singing, “Hey, diddly-dee, an actor’s life for me,” that’s what I wanted. Well, not to be an actor.
I got tired of that during my freshman year in college.

So, what to do, what to do. . .

After many years as a Hollywood press agent, I became a writer…movies, stage plays, books.
Anything that was a challenge.  I love telling stories.

After all, with due respect to actors, directors and other artists, isn’t the only truly creative aspect of the performing arts the written word?
Everything else is “interpretation”.

On this site you will find links to my many stage plays that are available for licensing, listings of my books that are available for purchasing, some of my screenplays that are available for optioning, plus my blog that will keep you apprised of my various on-going activities and we can get to know each other, maybe too well.

If you’re into DVDs, take a look at my monthly newsletter, BEST BETS ON DVD.

Also, if you have a story that you want told, either in screenplay or book form, I am still a writer-for-hire.  Have Mac-Will Write.

So, please sign the guest book and share your thoughts and comments on my blog.  But, let’s play nice!

Don’t be such a stranger.  Keep coming back!

Happy Holidays!

by Michael B. Druxman on 12/15/18

December 15, 2018

I can't believe that I haven't posted here since July.

Maybe because there's not much going on that I can talk about.

It's a contractual agreement, but if it happens you will be one of the first to know.

In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday season.

GOIN' UP THE MISSISSIPPI

by Michael B. Druxman on 07/17/18

July 17, 2018

I know I haven't been around much lately, mainly because there hasn't been a lot to report.

A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I flew to New Orleans; stayed for a day or so, then took a one week riverboat (paddlewheel) ride up the Mississippi to Memphis.  It was a fun, relaxing trip.  We visited several towns, old Southern mansions; toured the Vicksburg battlefield.

Great entertainment on board.  We even lunched with President and Mrs. Lincoln; became acquainted with General and Mrs. Grant.

I'll let you ponder that one.

Sandy and I are now thinking about our next trip.

You have a creative week.

BRODERICK CRAWFORD

by Michael B. Druxman on 04/30/18

April 30, 2018

I am pleased to announce the 19th play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection, BRODERICK CRAWFORD.

As with the last few plays in this series, the subject was a person who I knew.

Broderick Crawford made many movies and appeared countless times on television.  He is probably best remembered for films like ALL THE KING'S MEN, for which he won a Best Actor Oscar, and BORN YESTERDAY, as well as his popular TV series, HIGHWAY PATROL.

BRODERICK CRAWFORD is a three person play.  Aside from the actor, the other two characters are his parents, vaudevillians Lester Crawford and Helen Broderick.  After vaudeville died, Ms. Broderick had a major career as a character actress in movies, appearing in a couple of Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers musicals, as well as in other films.

Performance rights are available for BRODERICK CRAWFORD.  You can obtain paperback and Kindle copies on Amazon.  (If the link below doesn't work, just copy it into your browser and that should get you right there.)

You have a creative week.
